Led by Breathworks Mindfulness teacher and former physiotherapist Kate Beynon, this carefully crafted program will teach you how to use Mindfulness, meditation and self compassion to successfully manage pain, illness, anxiety & fatigue in your daily life.
You may not be able to change your circumstances but with Mindfulness training, you can change how you respond to whatever your health condition throws at you and significantly improve your quality of life.
This is a small group course (intentionally limited to 8 participants) based in a private studio in Kate's home nestled in the beautiful Kent countryside. The tranquil setting and limited group size helps to provide a safe space in which we can share in each other's experience whilst also meeting individual learning needs.
Clinical trials have shown that Mindfulness meditation can be as effective as prescription painkillers, and can enhance the body’s natural healing systems. Mindfulness can also reduce the anxiety, depression, irritability, exhaustion and insomnia that can arise from chronic pain and illness.

Who is the training for?
The course is open to people with all kinds of health challenges including chronic back pain, arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraines, cancer, MS, Parkinsons and any other non-specific pain or suffering.
What will I learn?
A mixture of mindfulness, meditation and modern pain management strategies that have been developed from the personal experience of Breathworks co-founder Vidyamala Burch who has lived with severe pain for over 40 years following two major spinal injuries
Personalised pacing strategies to help with energy levels and reduce feelings of overwhelm
Deep breath and body awareness to help you relax and release tension
Supportive mindful movement practices to help you regain trust in your body
A range of simple meditation techniques including body scans, breath based meditation, mindful movement, compassionate acceptance and connection meditations.
How to build your own personal toolkit of mini-practices that you can apply to your daily life to help significantly reduce the suffering caused by pain & illness as and when it arises.

Guided meditation recordings to assist you with 20 minutes of daily home meditation practice

When is the course?
The course is run over 8 sessions starting on Wednesday 12th January 2022 10am-12.30 and then every Wednesday morning until the 9th March with the exception of Wednesday 16th February when we have a break for school 1/2 term.
How much does it cost?
The total cost for the course is £320 (£40 per each 2.5hr session)
Considerations re Covid
The studio is spacious and the reduced number of participants means that chairs/mats can be spaced out as much as is possible. Any equipment will be cleaned prior to use. Should restrictions be reintroduced before the course starts you will be offered to attend the course 'online' (a format that works well) or have a full refund. If restrictions are reintroduced after the course has already started we will continue the course in an online format.
